Room 14B - 6/25/07, Tolos, 9:27 p.m.
So I made it to Tolos okay, obviously. There is no internet connection at my hotel, so I have to walk into town to get online. Which is fine, because it makes me do other things than be online and on facebook. Tee hee.
So, yesterday, I got a cab to the bus station and then boarded the bus to Nafplion. From there, another bus to Tolos, where I am now! I had to hoof it up a hill that can only be rivaled by the one at Colgate with all of my luggage. I must have looked like I was going to pass out because the receptionist, when she saw me, immediately told me to sit down and have some water. It was about 4 in the afternoon and VERY hot. I was sweating a lot. I took a swim in the pool and basically passed out for the rest of the night. I thought it would cool down at night, so I turned off my A/C and slept with the door open. Bad idea for two reasons. 1. It didn't cool down. 2. It let in a bunch of mosquitos. Good job, Ally. I woke up hot and with mosquito bites. Good times.
Today, I walked down to the beach for a bit and then sat by the pool reading my book. It was nice. Napped this afternoon. Then, I went up to the pool bar to find the receptionist to ask her where an internet cafe was and she introduced me to this really nice couple from California. They ARE SO nice and have offered (on the condition that I give a tour) to drive me to Epidauros tomorrow! Yay! They were really cool. OH! And I might get to see Antigone at the Theater of Epidauros on Friday!!!! It would be amazing!
That's all for now! This cafe is super expensive! 2 Euros for a half hour! Eek!

Oh wow!!! So glad things are working out for you! As for the bites, at least you have something to remember Tolos by!!! I even contemplated flying out to Greece just so that you wouldnt travel alone but looks like you may not end up being too alone!
As for Epidauros, hope you can find some really cool posters (big big posters). Can arrange to have those mailed home so u wont have to lug them around.
I gave a monologue from Antigone during a pageant while I was in college!!! Take pictures for me!!!!

since you will be giving a tour to this Californian couple this is probalby the one time you would really appreciate the amount of information you got from your professor during your three week visit to this area!!!
yuck! bummer about the mosquito bites! It's been kinda hot here too but not quite unbearable. I work in this big warehouse and file stuff and it's been really hot and humid lately which has definitely slowed down the pace of my work. In fact, even now, I probably should be working instead of blogging. Oh well.
Guess what! I just bought a ticket to DC to visit Shmelinda and KruseControl. It wasn't too expensive so I'm excited for a visit.
I love your stories. I cannot believe how cool your study abroad is!
