In the Home Stretch

Same old story, Ally didn't blog for a long time. Bad Ally, bad.

So, over Thanksgiving, Mom, Patti and Syd all came to visit and it was fantastic. We had a really, really great time. They got to experience acqua alta firsthand and the ridiculousness that is the Italian train system (if you're really curious, ask about the bug lady on the train... you can watch Patti laugh till she almost pees on herself. it's pretty funny) We hung out in Venice and then went down to Florence and Pisa. the leaning tower of Pisa was really cool cause we got to go up and you could feel the pull of gravity changing as you went up the staircase. Pretty sweet. In Florence, we went to the Uffizi gallery and admired the general splendor. In Venice, we went to the Palazzo Ducale and saw the prisons where they kept Casanova. Pretty cool I think.

Mom took a bunch of my stuff home with her, which was SO helpful cause I'm gonna be cutting it close as it is with the luggage I've got now.

We turned in all our papers last week and we're currently studying for finals and trying to enjoy our last week in Venice all at the same time. It's kinda crazy to think that by the end of the week, I'll be back in the states. I don't know if I'm ready to go back to the US. I'm ready to go home and see my family and friends but not ready to leave Venice quite yet. There's just something magical about this place that makes you fall a little bit more in love with it every day. I have had such an amazing five months here. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Well, I've got to go start studying for our Italian final tomorrow. I have some pictures from Christmas in Venice that I can post. Or I can just wait till I get home, cause it's only 4 days until I leave Venice. How bittersweet!

Tutto il mio amore da Venezia,

Ally
